About The Artwork
The main artist that inspired me to create this piece would be Jackson Pollock. He painted with chaos and emotion, which gave off the aura of anxiety throughout his works. He is one of my main inspirations in the field to this day, so I tried to emulate a similar style while creating this piece. I would hope viewers would get lost within the various textures and drips from the ink and pastels, while feeling euphoric and happy from the subtle coloring on top of the ink. This combination is something that was newly introduced to me, and I was very excited to work with such materials and mediums. I chose these mediums because I wanted to show how atypical they could be used within a composition. I also wanted to show that emotions do not come with just bright colors, but also with just ink, and possibly muted colors as well. Every time I view this, it reminds me why I am so passionate about art.
