About The Artwork
Pretty Kitty was inspired by my cat, Midnight, who was a beautiful all back short fur cat. She lived 17 years. As she aged she maintained her gracefulness even though she was full of the devil, one might say! I drew her character in design. I feel I captured a certain look in her eye that she knew how pretty she was and will always be. I first sketched out pretty kitty over a decade ago and I was thinking of her recently again so I created this portrait of her character. This is #1 of Series Pretty Kitty! She is sketched out, then designed, then dressed in vibrant colors...I add oil pastels as I want to capture certain tones and I love pastels, so she is surrounded by vibrant tones to reflect her own energy as a cat of 9 lives!
