About The Artwork
An original ink on paper, part of a collection of "sharpie art" created by allowing the pen to flow without an agenda. As I rotated the thick paper, it revealed my subjects. It started with four circular hairdos... then the various outfits pretty much drew themselves. The inspiration for this piece came from my sisters... all 3 of them. I didn't choose this medium, it chose me. A very creative person advised me to never blame my tools. At the time of beginning this series of drawings I discovered a box of brand new sharpie markers and a few blank pages with coffee-stained corners. I put a song on repeat and let my pen lead the way white rotating my tablet to create its own design. At that point I zoned out was only the messenger. When that happens I feel like a real artist. "Kimberly Adamis Fongheiser is an LA-based Photographer/Artist whose work spans over multiple medias. During the recent summers (pre-COVID) she’s been traveling with Ann Wilson of Heart and the band HEART Love Alive Reunion Tour 2019 (w/artists Ann & Nancy Wilson, Brandi Carlile, Sheryl Crow, Elle King, etc.) as tour photographer. When home she spends her time exploring other aspects of the art world. If she's not photographing other musical artists, portraiture etc, you will find her in her studio painting, drawing and exploring new mediums. Her work has been displayed in Rome, Venice, London and in Los Angeles where she’s had Solo & Group exhibits.
