About The Artwork
This was created as a gift to my partner. We both portray ourselves as gryphons in the online world, and have developed these characters over quite a few years. This scene is meant to illustrate the handfasting ceremony we had for each other, cementing the bond between us. My gryphon, Merih`Saan is the one on the left, she has wisteria in her crest feathers, which is my favorite flower, and a band on her forepaw that is made of braided silver. Rehkal is on the right, and he represents my partner of 13 years, he is adorned with a brow band of blue jewels to compliment the ribbons and jewelry on his tail. The beach is a special place for us, as it is one of the first places we ever spent time together and sunsets are always gorgeous for the colors.

Born 1980 in Natick, Massachusetts.
I am a primarily self taught artist concentrating mainly in the world of fantasy. Dragons, gryphons and other assorted critters make up the vast majority of my work, although I do like to paint landscapes on occasion. My preferred medium is oils, and most of the original paintings that I have are done in that medium.
I enjoy the fantasy world, mainly because you are not bound by conventional idea and can let your imagination take flight (no pun intended). I'm drawn to dragons in particular, as they have special meaning to me in my every day life, and I admire the strength, ferocity and tenacity that this magical race of creatures is known for. I also draw upon the beautiful landscapes that abound in the area of Maine that I chose to live in, incorporating many aspects of that into my artwork.
