About The Artwork

“To Play or Not to Play”, that is the question that must have haunted Shakespeare’s mind if he were playing golf today. Let me invite you to take a seat. I am welcoming you to meditate on your life and your future. With this game of golf, I am presenting to you a metaphor. The golf bag is where your strength lies. You are the creator of your success. It is your choice whether you play your game of life or stay on the sidelines. Much like the golf clubs that are stored in the bag, you must realize that you have many different tools from which to choose from when following your path. If you THINK BIG and put them to good use, anything is possible. The purple tee is your place of contemplation. Purple in itself represents enlightenment and wisdom. By accepting to take a moment and reflect upon the BIG picture of your life, I hope that you leave open-minded. Let the purple fuse to your mindset. In Feng Shui purple is described as a high vibration color and is linked to the spiritual realm. The Chinese use purple hues specifically in healing rooms or meditation spaces. As you sit on this tee recognize the wisdom in your decisions. Have they always been in your best interests? Have you been playing “your game” in life? Have you tried to get a “Hole in One ”? Although I envision the spectator sitting on the tee, in real life, it is the golf ball’s place. The red ball has been one of the main metaphors I use in my pieces. Its pure energy is the vitalizing life force in human beings. The red ball is the spectator itself. The red sphere also symbolizes rebirth. It is associated with the loss of something (maybe a personal attitude) or someone (maybe our old “self”?). After having taken this moment for enlightenment, I intend for the viewer to stand reborn with a fresh outlook on how he/she want to live their lives. The viewer’s image reflected in the mirror suggests his/her true self, waiting to emerge and show in its entire splendor, the ability to achieve success. The disproportions on the piece are indications to the infinite possibilities and point of views that reality can have. It aims to create the idea in the spectator to think big in a way to get his/her “Hole in One.”
