Artist Recognition
Artist featured in a collection
This evocative artwork features a fragmented, abstract portrait that appears to be composed of disjointed, puzzle-like pieces. The stylization is reminiscent of Cubism and Dada with the depiction of the subject from multiple viewpoints. The artist behind this work may hope that viewers will engage in an introspective journey, contemplating the complexity of human identity and the multifaceted nature of the self. It might also evoke thoughts on the fragmentation of memory or the dissonance between public and private personas. The medium, likely digital etching, is adept at producing the detailed textures and deep contrasts observed in the image. Such a medium complements the subject matter and style by allowing for meticulous control over the nuances of light and shadow, which in turn accentuates the fragmented nature of the work. The choice of a monochromatic palette helps to focus the viewer's attention on the interplay of form and depth, rather than the distraction of color. In summary, the artwork is a powerful exploration of the human psyche, employing a style and medium that enhance its thematic intentions, inviting viewers to reflect on the layers of meaning within the piece.

I explore the aesthetic of things through absurd, irony, abstract, and misplaced situations. In my early thirties, I joined the largest artistic avant-garde movement in the long history of the former Soviet Union. In St. Petersburg the group of artists founded the Society of Experimental Fine Arts and gave regular art exhibitions of a "new" art five years prior to the rise of Perestroika in the Soviet Union. Throughout the 1980's, my paintings were regularly shown at art exhibits. My artistic practice explores the conceptual aesthetic of things through absurd, irony and misplaced situations. It includes photo, painting, graphics, and sculpture. Since 2000s I have also been working in digital art and digital photography. Starting with raster images in Adobe Photoshop, vector graphics in Adobe Illustrator, and 3D objects in Maya/ 3ds Max, today I additionally use various text-to-image AI-driven art services like GAN & DALL·E 2 OpenAI for creating art works. My works are in Russian Museum (Saint-Petersburg, Russia), Museum of Nonconformist Art (Saint-Petersburg, Russia) and private collections in Russia, Spain, USA, Israel, France. From March 2022 I’m based in Spain. Web site: https://serge-yablonsky.co/ Arte Laguna World artist profile: https://artelaguna.world/artist/yablonsky-sergey/
