About The Artwork

Icons are images that have the power to represent with a few simple traits, an entire chain of data that our brain processes and elaborates when it sees the corresponding icon represented. Icon of the orisha god Shangó. Orishas are deities of the Yoruba religion who are believed to have acted as intermediaries between the gods and men. The Yoruba religion has its origins in West Africa. Much of their believers were used as slaves in the Americas, and were forbidden to have a belief of their own, for this reason Africans disguised their gods as saints of the Christian religion. But when freedom came, these ancient forces that had never died, flourished vigorously, not only in communities of African origin, but everywhere in the world. Shangó is a great African warrior, the Yoruba religion is the king of kings. He is one of the most recognised Orishas of his sanctuary, of which he is even the head. It is a symbol of justice, represented in dance, virility. It also has the power of elements such as thunder, lightning, and fire. Shangó embodies the need and but also the joy of living intensely. It also epitomises male beauty, present within passion, intelligence and riches. It's a strange deity. In ancient times he was a powerful manly and impetuous king. One day, he made a mistake in using his strength, he destroyed his palace and his family. He regretted it so much that I went into the woods and hanged himself. He had the powerful gift of predicting the future, and yet he changed it with the drum and the gift of dance. The history of Shangó teaches us that admitting one's mistakes opens the door to even bigger victories, and demonstrating brute force, even if it's in our power to do it, it's not always a good idea. Why buying Shangó ? To activate in your psyche, through a psychomagic process, the power knowing how to combine male strength with beauty. Strength in battle but also pleasure for beauty. Shangó tells us that even the greatest of leaders can be wrong and must admit it. He tells us that even the fiercest of warriors can take care of his body and his pleasantness. It tells us that virility is not in contradiction with feeling and sensitivity, even artistic sensitivity.
