VIEW IN MY ROOM
This was a commisioned artwork for the previous owner and founder of restaurant Mauve, Laren ( high end district of the Netherlands). An admirer of Artworks by La T'Ash. Mauve is named after: Antonij Mauve (Anton) (1838-1888) was born in Zaandam. At the age of 16, he went in Haarlem apprenticed to the famous cattle painter Pieter Frederik van Os and then with the horse painter Wouter Verschuur. Mauve often went together with Paul Gabriel nature in to paint. He worked from his twentieth in Oosterbeek, where many artists resided. In 1871 involved Mauve a Studio in the Hague. There he gave Vincent van Gogh, from whom he was a nephew by marriage, short time painting lessons. From 1882 he worked in summer, often in Laren, where he went to live in 1885. His work was then already known and loved by collectors from home and abroad. In America were especially popular, with flocks of sheep Mauve's distinction between ' sheep coming ' (sheep viewed from the front) and the slightly cheaper ' sheep going '. With its Moody, atmospheric landscapes with cattle is Mauve included the Hague School.
