It is an old process of photographic reproduction by insolation. The Cyanotype is an old monochrome negative photographic process, through which we obtain a blue Prussian, blue cyan photographic print. This technique was developed in 1842 by the English scientist and astronomer John Frederick William Herschel. (Source: Wikipedia) When the sun is at its peak, I sometimes give up my brushes a little to create compositions based on this magical, unpredictable and dreamy technique. I use cyanotype sometimes alone or sometimes mixed with watercolor or gouache.
