About The Artwork
At first, I was painting a fairy, but I ended up changing her wings, and so she became an angel, instead. I imagined a beautiful, glowing, and pure figure in nature, maybe in the woods, enjoying the creatures around her, and emitting her own inner light. I feel like this painting was a mixture between religion and fantasy, and it goes perfectly in my style of dreamy types of artwork. It's illustrative, without being cartoonish. Originally, I painted her in acrylics, but the canvas was small enough that I had difficulty getting her facial features to be perfect. I ended up going over the painting in oils to deepen the colors, photographing it, and then manipulating the image digitally, to get the effect I was unable to achieve with paint, alone.
