About The Artwork
I have always been fascinated by light, geometry, and the interaction between the two. This piece is a "photograph" of a virtual space set up play with complex illumination and novel geometric forms. This print was made with custom software to generate the glass ring and custom software to model the physics of the sunlight interacting with the glass. The software runs on a computer graphics chip that I was an architect of that accelerates the computation of the fifty billion light rays that I modeled. This print comes signed and numbered and includes a certificate of authenticity.

I am a computer scientist and digital artist. I have been using math, physics, and computer software as my art medium for thirty years. My art requires enormous amounts of computing power and I have spent years designing the computer graphics chips that have the horsepower that my art requires. I have always been fascinated by light, geometry, and the interaction between the two. My wife is never surprised to find me entranced by some shiny object, moving my head back and forth to see the reflections travel across its surface. Much of my art focuses on complex illumination, novel geometric forms, and "photographing" this virtual space. My wife and I enjoy raising our seven wonderful children in the beauty of Salt Lake City, Utah.
