From the series 'Chernobyl Diaries Pt. 3'. Inspired by a visit in 2018 to the site of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986. The experience of being in a post human landscape is overwhelming and all the work in the series is an attempt to visually express an emotional response to that experience. I hope the viewer will recognise the fragility of the environment around them and question our collective efforts to create a sustainable existence and so preserve the planet for the benefit of future generations. Although I trained as an artist using traditional materials I have been working digitally for 25 years. The medium enables me to fully express my visual ideas. The dimensions shown are for the paper size. There is a 5cm border around the actual image for framing purposes and for signing/titling/numbering the work. This is a high quality, high resolution print on Ilford heavyweight Fine Art paper. Full texts for the 'Chernobyl Diaries' series of work can be found on my website www.michaelpettet.com
