About The Artwork
At the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, I saw some paintings of Henry Rousseau, who is one of the major representative of Naive art and primitivism, and I just love it ! It inspired me a lot to realise this Artwork. Technical specifications : • Although it's a unique piece, this artwork is not a painting. It's a print on a plexiglass backlighted with LEDS. • There is a fine electric wire below the frame for electricity supply that can be hidden with a plastic sheath if necessary. • The frame is provided with a small remote control that allow you to choose the intensity and frequency of the light • It takes approximately 3 weeks for the frame to be done

French artist based in Paris, Darkko makes illuminated paintings using led technology. Photographer at the beginning, he uses light in a substractive way. With lighting, certain forms, faces or objects appear. For his illuminated paintings, Darkko draws the foundation on a software, playing with shapes, fragments, filters and colors to create my workspace. Then, printing them on large plexiglass, he assembles them to a light system made of LEDS in a closed frame. In the end, the result is a real game of lights between contrast, shine and subtilety. You can also choose the intensity and frequency of the light for a more personal interpretation. My influences are multiple. It goes from the futurist italian movement of the 30s to the pop’art and street art movement. Darkko exhibit regularly into some parisian galleries and contemporary art fairs.
