About The Artwork

"Mindscape" shows a faceless woman holding her head in her hands, as if she is experiencing a horror scene and is trying to contain it inside her mind. The movement is turned slightly upwards, as if an answer was expected from a god to whom a prayer is addressed. This painting speaks of the mental landscape, of thoughts that obsess and take up all the space, of the inner gaze in which we are sometimes locked. This painting is a unique piece made in mixed technique on canvas and combines photography, digital composition and acrylic painting (many layers of transparent glaze and squares treated in relief with a blue pigment). The painting is framed in black wood (total dimensions: approximately 65 x 85 x 4 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
