About The Artwork
Over the past few months I have been making new work that brings together recent explorations in painting, assemblage and digital collage whilst continuing my interest in “modern day archaeology”. The starting point has referenced architectural site plans of various archaeological sites. These images depicting the foundations of ancient buildings have provided a distinct structural format that ironically frees the work from the strictly geometric Mondrian inspired approach of previous work. These works are built up in layers echoing the exploration of archaeological sites where underlying remnants are revealed.
