Born in Pistoia in 1952 i am a self-taught, have cultivated a passion for painting since i was a boy. My artistic career began in 2015 when i was able to dedicate myself entirely to an intense study of colors and materials in continuous search for a synthesis between them. I live and works both in my hometown and in my new residence on the Island of Elba For me, matter is at the center of everything, malleable enough to be cut, mixed, spread, engraved or layered, thus demonstrating its infinite possibilities of transformation. This is why my works, rather than paintings in the traditional sense, can be defined as material concretions which recall, in terms of consistency and colour, aggregates of minerals, wall surfaces, rocky ripples. Mine is research into both the artistic and 'existential' implications of matter, understood not only as a principle, origin, matrix, but also as an expression of primordial forces that unite nature and the cosmos, the earth and galaxies, space- time and the immeasurable. Forces in which my creative act also participates, holding together both the organic and ancestral levels of matter, the microcosm of the work with the macrocosm of nature. .
