About The Artwork

Are our memories sacrosanct? Will future technology be a bully and forcibly reinterpret the visions of our childhood for us? Technology is glorious but can Dorothy survive its onslaught with her innocence intact? Innocence is anxious and absolutely lost amidst the endless content of the digital world. Poor stainless Dorothy Gale is in the process of losing her purity and her mind. Her soul has come undone due to the endless possibilities and myriad expectations of the electronic domain. She is a victim of the digital apocalypse and she has lost all her humanity. This work is a one of kind digital painting on aluminum and signed by the artist. It was created using found objects, glitch software and electronic art applications.

As an artist with autism my work is often a reflection of how I experience the world around me. I am sometimes overwhelmed by loud sounds, crowds of people, or the unfamiliarity of places that I've never been. It is the sensory equivalent of nails on a chalkboard but the sound never ceases; it keeps on reverberating and growing in intensity. In my paintings I use vibrant, extreme and excessive colors to craft images of a world that exists in a constant state of overkill. It is all a bit "too much" for the eye because I’m conveying what life is like for me on a daily basis. My artwork is deliberately over the top and exaggerated as my perception of reality is off times the same.
