ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The tulip was names Perestroika; we'd planted several dozen in each of the grey-blue jars that flank the entry to the lawn. The flowers were a splendid red-bronze, and flamboyantly large. I picked a couple for a tiny vase indoors to watch them age. Alas, they slowly turned a grim prosthetic pink. This was an attempt to return them, digitally, to youth. Irritatingly, the bulbs are vigorous and persistent; they now flourish amongst the strawberries in the kitchen garden. The black monoprint I used as a background to the print add, I hope, to the drama. Edition of 50, signed and numbered, and minus watermarks. 6 sold.
