ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Color coded Sunrise - Rim of the world, California on November 1st 2022 at 6:17am. Upon purchase you may choose between natural wood and black for the frame. Every single one of my paintings embodies a fingerprinted moment that pushes me to observe further. I consider art this contemplative exploration of our perception of time and the fleeting nature of the present (what I call “the void”). The essence of my work captures the everyday beauty around us, and how everything is in consistent motion even as we inhabit the moment we call "present". With a minimalist aesthetic, my paintings are truly rooted in classical realism training. Classical realism masters where experts at training the eye to see things as they are instead of how our instinctive nature wants us to see things for survival purposes.

Colombian Artist based in California. My work is inspired by the constant change we perceive with the passing of time. Most people approach art as a tool for personal expression, so the artist can share their perspective, vision or opinion about any given subject. I believe, art is not an outlet for us artists to “create” an opinion. Instead I think about it as a way of understanding what’s around us and making sense of it. Just like musicians make up melodies and lyrics that relate to their experiences to generate a deeper understanding of how they are processing that experience, or like dogs understand their surroundings through smell, I believe the artist understands the world by observing, feeling, and by perpetuating that feeling through painting or drawing or other technique. It is a very intimate and personal process that allows us artists to get to know ourselves so much better.
