Arwana fish is a small tribe of primitive freshwater fish that are still found today. Arwana is a type of fish originating from Southeast Asia. Types and colors vary from red to silver and gold. Because the colors and shapes are so beautiful and amazing, not a few of these fish are hunted. The high interest and market demand has caused the price of the Arwana to be high as it is endangered in nature. The Asian Arwana fish was included in the list of endangered species with the status of "endangered" by the IUCN in 2004. The number of this Arwana fish species is decreasing because it is often traded because of its very high value as an aquarium fish, especially by Asian people. Feng Shui followers can pay dearly for this Arwana fish. Nevertheless, the trade in Arwana fish is still legally permissible even though its protection status has been included in CITES Appendix I with the condition that the Arwana being traded is the result of captive breeding. The price range for Arwana is around hundreds of thousands to tens of millions of rupiah depending on the type.
