A Fazenda Print

This work was inspired by two places, and so I tried to make it to exist in two dimensions: the nature as I experienced it in my childhood, and one I discovered in my adulthood. The first is the old farm that belonged on the land of my relatives in Canada, in Komoka, Ontario; and the second is a farm where I spent some time, in a place called Quimbaya, in Armenia, Colombia. I tried to show the industrial aspect of the farm - the silos - lost to nature, and overcome by decay. The nature is inspired by the magnificent plants I discovered in Quimbaya. An explorer reaches the heights above this fallen industry and looks into the night sky, beyond the physical realm as we know it. The painting is in black acrylic paint on canvas, detailed with fine pen line-work, and covered with a protective coating.
