About The Artwork

Oil on linen 55x105x2cm (21.7x41.3x0.8in) 2021, ready to hang. SOLD, Private collection, Marbella, ES. This painting shows a little saxophonist looking at the viewer with an enigmatic face. Is he willing to play music for us? Is he happy in his shoes? The answer is in the viewer’s feelings. The idea of painting a young music player had been in my head for long time before I decided to make this artwork. I found the right picture and worked on it with Photoshop before I started working on the linen canvas. The result is a bright, colourful painting with an expressionist touch. The background is white to let the figure stand out. A light blue ground level is just perceivable and fades into the deep white of the background. The sides of the canvas are painted in white to make the painting look clean and precious even without a frame. “A little saxophonist” is a 55x105cm oil painting stretched on a supported wooden frame and ready to hang. It is signed on the front and back and comes with his unique certificate of authenticity.

In my paintings I focus on figures and their interaction with the landscape and architecture. After spending some years being very faithful to the samples, I am now experimenting different styles of painting and alternating portraits (mainly commissions) with sperimental artworks. Also, I am increasingly taking advantage of image editing softwares in pre-production to find the best colours and lights for the painting. I use oil colours both on wood and linen. All the materials used in the artworks are high quality, from hand primed canvas (by myself, using a classic method that prevents from aging and deterioration) to colours. Some of my paintings are currently part of private collections in Italy and abroad. Awards: 2023 Finalist, Artfinder Creative Contest - Unity Competition, Online. 2017 Mulieribus, 4th edition.
