About The Artwork
In this 2016 watercolor I decided to experiment with the structure of painting applying again the surreal technique of mixing opposited objects in the same composition. I could explain every decision taken in this watercolor and justifying why I used warm and cold colors or why one image is right facing to the viewer and the other one is seen upside down, but all this behaviours were unconscious and not thought previously. Actually I was painting a photograph from my movie book and when I finished, dued to I had left a small empty space in the left corner of the paper, I decided to paint that with a sunset I saw through my window. As for me, the only thing I did was to let myself be carried away by my instinct. This monochrome watercolor is signed and dated on the front and is shipped in an extra strong cardboard tube. The work is reccommend to frame it for a best look.

Fernando Rodríguez Salas (Barcelona, 1983.) was graduated at University of Fine Arts in Granada in 2005 after studying Graphic Design in Middlesbrough (UK). Fernando started working as a Graphic Web Designer in Madrid but later he was attacted by acting and he started to took part in plays, short films and commercials. At this point Fernando explain: " It doesn't matter any medium I use, wathever acrylic, watercolor, marker or graphite, the most important thing is the experience of the moment and the search of the impulse to react to a stimulus, These two princples I found them out when I worked as an actor in Madrid; and in this way, I can start with an idea in mind but I change it, driven by my instinct, in order to come upon new findings." His last exhibitions were at the Affordable Art Fair in Milan and at Van Gogh Art Gallery in Madrid, where he showed part of the Dark Paintings series.
