About The Artwork

a touch of spring... name says it all! Green leaves, white flowers. I am closing my eyes and I am in a rainforest. Sounds nice. Smells nice. Feels nice. Whenever I look at this painting, I take a deep breath and start walking into the forest. I smell the earth, as if it was raining the day before. This one-of-a-kind painting is from "gravity" series in which I let gravity to paint. Abstract white flowers are rising up in spite of the gravity and blossoming. Oil painting, on canvas board. could be framed for hanging or could be placed on a side table for a modern look. For more about the gravity series, please visit https://www.aylingoke.com

I am a self-taught artist and actually trained as a scientist. In 2016, I started to paint rigorously to re-charge myself so that I can work in lab efficiently and maintain my focus on my experiments. Painting became my explorative science; I tried different mediums, experimented with different colors, techniques, brushes – any kinds of material I found. If a medium says, “do not mix with oils” I did. I used most of the time oils and sometimes acrylics, painted with gesso on oil paintings.
