About The Artwork

This is a work from the series "Ports of Chernomoria", the beginning of the 20th century. It is interesting to study and paint Bulgaria, coping retro photos, introducing my own vision and color into the past. Sozopol is the oldest Bulgarian town on the Black Sea coast. The first settlement in these places was in the 4-3 millennium BC. Some churches and a lot of houses from wood and stone create a unique appearance of Sozopol today. Ancient icons and magnificent wood-carving iconostasis present spectacular achievements of arts and crafts of those times.
