About The Artwork

Calmness is characterized by being immobile, by offering stillness, somewhat cold, but immutable calm also generates restlessness, since the human spirit is always eager for activity, it is the supreme yin and yang, which marks the vital rhythm and apparently the rhythm of everything that exists in the universe; so calm must be interrupted with action, with light, but not just any light, because when calm is cold, blue, gray or black, warmth must be shed, but not an abrupt one, but a gradual, small one that grows , to the degree of balance and reaching an emotional state of pleasure and satiety, thus the light must penetrate the pictorial work... in small steps, so that at the moment of observing it it does not flood the eye in an unrestrained way, but with a increasing and harmonic rhythm.

Christian Calvillo had his first approaches to painting at the age of 16. Obtained a degree in photography from the Universidad Iberoamericana in 2006; Obtained a degree in painting from the University of Guanajuato in 2008. Lived in Florence studying Renaissance influences in modern art in 2011. His work has two facets: the abstract aspect where color and shape represents human perceptions and reactions through patterns and color. The figurative aspect shows how currenlty the condition of human thought and ideology is in a frantic change due to the influence of the expressions on the various media and how it translates this expressions in ironic and descriptive manifestations of pop and street art.
