About The Artwork

The imposition of the rigid structures arising from the chaotic nebulous of colors demonstrates the search for order out of the chaos of life. The reflective quality of the painting contrasts with the sharp lines built within the work.

Before moving to the United States in 1983, Tsukasa Kambara lived and worked in Tokyo, Japan as an interior and graphic designer. He now is a resident of Charleston, West Virginia, where he creates artworks inspired by both his native Japanese roots and American cultural aesthetics. His style is also heavily influenced by architectural designs as well as the work of abstract artists such as Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko. Using these influences, he has developed an individual approach that aims to “portray the principle of chaos and order.”
