ABOUT THE ARTWORK
ALCHEMY is the medieval chemical science and speculative philosophy. The main aims of the alchemists were: - to find the Stone of Knowledge, - to discover the medium of Eternal Youth and Health, - to discover the transmutation of metals. Alchemy is making a comeback. But the scholars who write the history of science and technology no longer lump alchemy in with witchcraft as a pseudo-science. Instead they see alchemy as the proper precursor to modern chemistry.

As a member of International Encaustic Society (IEA), Ulyana applies molten beeswax in contemporary new ways mixing encaustic with oil and pastels and developing 3D-texture using fabric and absorbing paper. She has gradually developed her own artistic style and participated in many juried exhibitions in Europe.
