About The Artwork
I wanted to create a colorful painting with movement and texture. In addition to the gouache and acrylics, I combined scrapings from my palatte and applied with a very glossy glue and additive.It's just the right amount of light and texture that draws one's eye to move naturally through the entire work. I have recently incorporated more texture by re-using the paint left over from the palatte paintings. The application is carefully selected and placed. This painting is in a black and thin gold floater frame with all hardware and ready to hang.

Nan is a full-time artist currently living on St. George Island - a remote barrier Island in Florida. After years of living in large cities and many corporate relocations, I returned to a coastal family home to decompress and my art career emerged. This was in 2015 and I have never looked back. My inspiration comes from my past and present experiences with people, places, and emotions. I love the creative process, vivid colors, and various textures. And, I often begin abstractions lacking form and see the opportunity to shift to representational qualities even if slight. I easily work for 10 - 12 hour days without struggle. The creative process brings me joy like nothing else. Look for whimsy, color, and lots of paint.
