About The Artwork

This is a fairly recent work that I painted in the spring 2015. The title of this piece is derived from the gold metallic acrylic paint used in its creation; which in fact is not gold at all.

I have been creating artwork and photographs for over 50 years. My painting was influenced at a very early age by the abstract expressionist movement of the early-mid twentieth century. Photographically my inspiration came from the likes of Minor White, Edward Weston, Garry Winograd and Jerry Uelsmann. I've lived in numerous locations in the USA and overseas but now make my home in St Augustine, Florida. I paint in oil and acrylics on canvas, favoring large panels. For my photographic works I use both traditional analog and digital equipment.
