This artwork is part of a growing series of female portraits. Although the women show unusual attributes, they are all beautiful in their own way. Which they doubt: am I pretty at all? The drawing is the twenty-third of a series called 'Am I Pretty? No, You're Beautiful.' It recalls the general thought of common beauty told by the media, and the insecurity and pressure emerging from this for many girls and women. So the serie shows portraits of sometimes weird, but always special girls or women, who nevertheless are stunningly beautiful, but never in a common way.
