About The Artwork

This is the left half of a larger painting, Another Roller Coaster In Life: Blue Skies is the right half. With bold color and bold lines this paintings is a strong statement piece. It is a roller-coaster of movement with swirling lines that at times are organic and at other times have some relationship to man made contraptions. I wanted to express a chaotic sense of motion and sound in this painting yet the composition holds the piece together, containing the activity to the canvas. This is another real favorite of mine and it needs a big wall to give it room to breath.

I have chosen to work abstractly because I want to work with the essence of mark making and the basic emotional reactions that colors elicit. At this moment this seems the most honest energizing way for me to work. Addison has spent more than 20 years as a professional artist and craftsmen. She received her BFA from the University of Texas in Austin and her MFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. Working with wood, steel, and plexiglass, under the company names of “what will the neighbors think?”, "Raven Rock Artworks" and "paigeART", Addison partnered with her brother Eric Paige to produce over 10,000 unique, finely crafted, hand painted clocks. Addison also spent several years hand dyeing silk and creating fine art quilts. Over the years Addison has been juried into the top fine art and fine craft festivals around the country and ran a thriving wholesale business. In 2013 Addison decided to leave the world of festivals and heavy travel schedules and she turned her energy towards her desire to paint large scale abstract acrylic paintings.
