Arctic emotions Print

This painting reflects the contrariety of youth. We see a young boy, half dressed and half naked. The white cloth wrapping his torso is for his innocence. It also represents a beginning. The Orange cloth around his neck conveys his warmth, enthusiasm and release of inhibitions. The green around his head is for growth, health and his relationship with nature. The grey sky and background grey ocean are both in contrast to his youthfulness. My intention was to visualise the existential vision of Albert Camus who wrote, “In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer.”
