About The Artwork

I used sumi ink for this sketch of a branch of ardisia tree. I like the strong statement of sumi ink on white paper. I studied Japanese sumi painting for four years in Japan. The paper is watercolor paper and the brushes are Japanese. My inspiration are Nolde, Diebenkorn and Japanese sumi painters.
