About The Artwork
Transformation has been the lightning and constant within my life, a culmination of the experiences that have sustained and shaped my artwork and connection to energies all around me. The vivid contrasts between silhouette and perceived reality may become blurred with unexpected occurrences colliding with our sense of reality in time and space. “Around the Corner” is an exploration into parallel or invisible worlds and solar systems within countless galaxies we may unknowingly brush against. We may explore these worlds in our dreams, while meditating, or on a Shamanic quest. Whichever direction we choose to take will forever determine the events that become manifest, changing the inevitable outcomes and shifting destiny. We may bump into portals during ordinary encounters, unaware there may be a moment we slip into another vibrational shift that can alter our perceptions and choice of roads to follow. I am mostly a self-taught artist with studies at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and intensives in Watercolor in Pennsylvania. I feel a connection with impressionistic, abstract, and expressionistic styles. I enjoy working with pastels, watercolors, acrylics and digital media. I am also a fan of mixed media and collage. My paintings are seeds from stories, glimpses into the visualizations of my written tales. I feel an affinity with my paintings, as if they have their own identities, and speak to me in their own languages, evolving as I create. Since childhood, I have always felt a connection to nature and ephemeral energies beyond the surface of material reality. I have instinctively gravitated to worlds unseen and feel compelled to enter doorways beyond the physical. I have been on a spiritual quest to discover divine life in everything, from a drop of rain to the whistling of a tea pot.
