the Asphodelus, was the strongest symbol of Death in Ancient Greece as Persephone wore a crown of Asphodels and the grayish color of the flower reflected the sadness of the Underworld. At the same time, the flowers root fed the poor and saved humans and pigs from poisons and disease, preserving life.
