About The Artwork

"auto ergo sum" is the counterpart of "enzemen" and symbol for many of the questions or challenges of our time. Everyone commutes lonely from home to work. Empty of meaning and homeless. The connection to one's own identity but also to the environment is lost. These developments lead to a destruction of society and especially of our environment (whose environment?). The whole series can be put together or hung in different ways depending on your taste. E.g. the main picture in the middle and the others around it, or start with "what can become from the ashes" and pairwise different developments or a sequence depending on the inner feeling of the buyer. However, each picture is also for sale in itself and has its own message.

GiorDana was born in Schwyz (Switzerland) on 30 October 1964 on a beautiful autumn day with foehn storm. She grew up in a family marked by art and creativity. The first professional training in art took place during her time at grammar school. There she received the highest grade in the subject of Artistic Design and the teaching staff recommended her to study at the art school. Since lack of money was a permanent companion during her childhood and the new generation (3 children) soon followed, she preferred to study business administration, however. In this field she is now working part-time as a manager. However, she never gave up art, especially painting, and has constantly attended numerous training courses, individual workshops as well as year-round courses. Thus, in addition to training in drawing and painting, she has acquired knowledge of mosaic art, pottery, soapstone figures, icon painting, shoe design and construction, design and manufacture jewellery, glass fusing, encaustic painting and much more. When she met again in 2003 with her childhood love, who also showed his passion for art at the same high school, a new highly creative period of work flared up. Art stays and study trips to various corners of the world such as France, Spain, Italy, USA, Jordan, Oman, Israel, Tunisia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Nepal and French Polynesia followed. These diverse experiences led to the decision to do a professional training at the SKDZ School of Art and Design Zurich and to dare to show her work publicly.
