ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Acrylic and acrylic marker on paper. An abstract painting to represent the change of the seasons from summer to autumn. Walking through a city, the sky is still blue, but the leaves are changing to an array of beautiful colours. It reminds me not only of my home city of Brighton that I'm lucky enough to walk through every day. But it also reminds me of walking through Central Park in New York when I was lucky enough to visit in November some years ago. Perhaps it reminds you of somewhere. Or do you see something entirely different in this painting? That's the beauty of abstract art, and why I love what I do and why I love viewing other artists' work too.

Although the name I am now using is Natalie Parsons, my previous name was Natalie Ballard. Some of my paintings are signed as Natalie Ballard. I will try and add both names to the back of all paintings! I have had a varied and exciting career over the last 25 years. I have worked as a textile designer, an artist, a graphic & web designer and a flash animator. I have created many animations for television shows for the BBC, Channel 4, E4, and Channel 5, and I have met some inspirational people along the way. I always had a passion for art, drawing, textiles, and making and documenting things. I'm excited by life, people, especially things that make me laugh. Anything in my daily life can be a starting point for a painting, and I love the idea that a work takes on a life of it's own and leads me where it wants to go. I grew up in Hertfordshire. I moved to Sussex to go to college, and ended up staying here. I have lived in Brighton on the south coast of England for 22 years. I hope you enjoy viewing my work as much as I enjoyed making it.
