About The Artwork
[Information] The artwork is painted on 300 gsm watercolor paper. It is painted with lightfast watercolor and pencil, gouache and ink accents. The whole piece was sprayed with an extra lightfast coating so the painting will not fade over time. I chose the brightest colors I could find to make the balloon flower as saturated as possible for the simple reason, I think it's beautiful. This painting was a blast to paint and I hope you can see that through this painting. What I see in this painting is a colorful, happy, beautiful image. But if I start thinking about a meaning.. It's a balloon flower. It says something about our inviroment getting more and more contaminated. And how ever, what humans make can eem beautiful. It an be destructive. But I don't like this painting to be all negative. So I hope you mainly see the beauty in this flower. And my top priority is for you to find your own story and connection with this painting.
