This picture is both realism and a symbolic metaphor. A poor, empty table, a wobbly, scuffed chair, a somewhat dank environment, contrasted to title, is pictorial Irony. Which sardonic Artist does all the time, albeit in different styles. Ideas for contemplation with the picture. 1) Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death. Jerome Lawrence. (Realism). 2) Sooner or later everyone sits down to a banquet of consequences. Robert Louis Stevenson. (Metaphor). Picture does not depict "fluffy and cuddly", plenty of sentiment elsewhere. Artist's realism here only. Technical note, see additional photographs also. Earth colours include: Zinc White, Titanium White, Burnt Umber, Gold Ochre by Winsor and Newton, Olive Green by LeFranc and Bourgeois, Red Ochre by Sennelier, Bitumen by Mir. Turpentine, Distilled Gum by Pip Seymour. Medium, Artist's own. Refined (it takes ages) mix of Linseed Oil by Pebeo, and small amounts of Stand Oil by Kremer, and Dammar made by Artist from clearest natural crystal. Gesso by Daler. Canvas by Reeves, 12 oz./350 gsm., "Gallery", stretched appropriately. Created thus as Permanent and Lightfast for customer. Glazing with a most soft Goat Hair Brush. Tricky. Monogram.

United Kingdom
Lowborn, not a Virtue-Signaller, lacking Luxury Beliefs or their status, but neither an inverted snob, nor a snob. Definitely not intersected. Orphaned, outcast, male, straight, white, capitalist (a tiny fish in a very big pond), quite conservative in fiscal and social matters. In long term and friendly relationship. Prankster, yet pragmatic, singular, evolved, authentic, ironic, sardonic, sceptical. Comparatively deprived early life. Which has had permanent effect. Not least in being grateful, for what I've got. And for true opportunities both recognisable and takeable. These themes within some of these works. Never faked a sarcasm too. Personally loyal to those who have tried to, or have, helped. What else is a man of honour to do? Really enjoy painting, sometimes. In silence, without media lies etc., noticed sound of own breathing as I paint. Expressive, rather than regular! Still learning after all these years. Thank you for your interest.
