Oil painting on canvas of a fetus in a golden womb floating in the ocean surrounded by fish, corals, a dolphin, and a whale. For some of the womb's layers I used gold and copper leaf to create a dramatic result. The painting is inspired by an inner vision .... "I dreamed once being the ocean ... I was a whale and also a school of fish ... all dancing together, bigger and smaller having no meaning, just fluid love, liquid peace." This was the inspiration for this painting, and the artwork is a reminder to find that inner place of beginning both as a child and a species where we experience unity, harmony, and peace. The water of the womb and the water of the oceans are really one. Perhaps we remember moments from our childhood when we had a taste of this fluid peace and easy connection to everything around us. I see life, all life, that it is made of this interconnectedness. Painted on a museum wrapped canvas, the sides of the artwork is painted with the same blue hues as the background. Gold and copper leaf used as accents. Varnished. Ready to hang, hanging wire attached. Not framed.

Zsuzsanna Rossetter was born and raised in Hungary and moved to the United States in 1997. Art has accompanied her all her life and she started to draw at a very early age. Zsuzsa watched her father draw figures and carve wood sculptures, and was especially fascinated by the African face painted in black hanging on the wall of their home that he had made from a half-split log. She grew up in a house with a large garden where everything seemed magical to her: the ferns, fruit trees, and the flowers in springtime. Zsuzsa’s grandparents had a large farm where she would climb on the cherry trees with her cousins. All this created a deep affinity in her toward the natural world and the living things in it.
