About The Artwork

1948, Germany is divided between Great Britain, France and the USA in the West and the USSR in the East. Berlin alike, but it is in the heart of the Soviet zone. Stalin opposes the desire of Westerners to create the Deutsche Mark by closing the road, rail and naval access to the city. Only the airways are possible and the Western allies will use them to supply the inhabitants via some 300 000 flights from June 48 to May 49. One way, food is brought and on the return, sick children are repatriated; while 3 years earlier the Allies bombed this same area ! A moment of humanity stuck between the Second World War and the Cold War and evidence, if any, of the ambivalence of the plane, weapon of destruction one day, vector of reconciliation between men another day. Representation of a vintage black and white photo, yellowed and degraded. Gold gouache, varnished and sold framed but unglazed to highlight gold glitter reflections.

Beyond technology, aeronautics is a great dream and human adventure vector. It is this dream of an elsewhere that I try to recreate in my works. Catching different views and trying to capture the fleeting moment that harmonizes perfectly aircraft and scenery. While I was a youngster I was painting motion picture posters. Now that I'm working in the aeronautical field near Paris in France, I'm found of aviation and artistic paint. I invite you to follow me for a flight in my sky.”
