About The Artwork

Takes its title initially from the predominant color being red. I instantly associate red to blood and blood for me is life. Not necessarily a color that calms but rather provokes and grabs my attention. Lines, circles, figures and smudges of different colors coexist with the predominant reds that wrap the entire painting. Black lines like the wrought iron structures give order and the green and white smudges add an organic feel as if they were threatening the industrial artificial order. Reducing my artwork to two dimensions and away from all figurative form I play with geometric art, hard-edged painting and organic shapes and smudges. I was inspired by masters of the cubist art and the forerunners of pop art such as Le Corbusier and Fernand Leger and Picasso. Initially I took note of the principals of geometric art and visual composition but the allowed my instinct to carry me away into the depths of this form of abstract art.

Marcos Terol is an international artist. His works ( oils on canvas ) present energetic movements of colours and shapes, projecting figures and scenes from nature. Focusing in his natural surroundings Marcos finds harmony and beauty in nature, figures and urban landscapes. His studio set in his home is on the Costa del Sol near the ancient city of Malaga. His home faces the coastline, washed by the Mediterranean Sea and nestled in between Andalusian white washed terraced houses and green pine trees. He paints at least 3 hours a day in his studio with brightly lit windows, facing his garden and the sea.
