ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Is part of a series titled Come Undone. I worked on a pair of canvases together so that this artwork becomes whole when both pieces are connected. The painting is an ode to the precious bond of companionship. They are friends, lovers and no matter what happens the bond between the pair is unbreakable. They are strong individual pieces on their own but when placed side by side, they deliver a striking statement. Heavily layered and textured to represent wear & tear of lives over time but through it all, their bond remains steadfast. This bold piece is entirely in black and white, used intentionally to translate transparency and communication needed to sustain the best kind of relationships that stand the test of time.

I have been painting for about 15 years now but my inherent love for art has been with me since I can remember. Having been born in Hong Kong and travelling the world over since an early age, I have always been aware and heavily influenced by colours associated with different cultures. I paint emotionally driven pieces straight from the heart. My work is inspired by social environments and have an underlying universal theme of survival, often portrayed by the use of bodies, birds & flowers. I find we are all creatures of habit, trying to do the best we can to find peace in the face of sacrifices & externalities that we don’t have control over. I use strong strokes and colours for layers and textures but my unique selling point tends to me my compositions. My all-time favourite artists include Picasso, Kahlo, Matisse and Naqsh. Power, passion, raw & free is what I hope my audience to feel while viewing my work as this is the energy I work with. I have lived in England for half my life and now am residing in Pakistan, a land full of natural beauty that has to be experienced to be believed.
