About The Artwork

A human figure is presented in in the landscape to provide a calibrating focal point for the audience. The almost Martian color scheme and the barren landscape with the disappearing horizon hint at the boundless nature of the human experience and the never-ending desire to explore. The surfer wetsuit resembles the protective wear of a space traveler, while the surfboard alludes to the outline of a spaceship. The surfer’s gaze turned towards the light speaks to the gravitational pull of the outer space. ● Gallery-wrapped heavy-duty stretched canvas 24 inches (60 cm) wide, 30 inches (75 cm) high, and 1.5" (4 cm) deep. ● The canvas sides are painted and the gallery wrapping is esthetically suitable to be displayed unframed. ● Ready to hang, hardware included. ● Multiple acrylic gloss and satin varnish coats for UV protection, reduced glare, and easy cleaning.
