As an artist, I choose not to disclose the inspirations behind my work to protect my mental health, respect privacy—both mine and those I paint—and allow the art to speak for itself. This decision doesn't stem from a desire to cultivate mystery, but rather from a belief in the subjective nature of art, where each viewer is invited to craft their own narrative. Every piece carries personal significance, selectively shared with those closest to me, fostering deeper connections and interpretations. This approach mirrors the philosophy of John Dewey, who viewed art as transformative experience. Just as Dewey emphasised processes of inquiry and finding meaning, my art encourages expanded perceptions and understanding, enriching the viewer's experience.
