About The Artwork
I came across this boat on a beach out in the Hamptons on an overcast morning and was moved by the derelict fence and the shape of the boat, with its uneven benches and its rope trailing off into the sand, unattached to any mooring, as if it were forgotten. Beach artifacts like these speak of abandonment and loss—but also to a return to nature, which I find uplifting. I hope this paint conveys some of that to you.
