About The Artwork
Unique beauty, silence and inner contemplation. This is ZEN. I had a wonderful 500 square meter studio in an old factory building. It was converted and renovated for modern offices. I had to get out. The frustration was great. I took a pile of my drawings and burned them. What to do with the ashes? There is so much work in it. I turned it into a picture. There is a lot of passion and energy in it. It has become an image of unique beauty, of silence and inner contemplation. This is ZEN in its purest form. Having that energy on the wall could give people strength. Burning Lifetime is a part of my life. The picture is stretched on a stable stretcher. Ash is very fragile, I cannot guarantee that all components will still be present after shipping. The picture is from 2012!

Guenter Rauch is a German artist. his works move between sculpture, drawings, painting and outdoor art projects and take a critical look at the relationships between humans and nature. I was born in the year one after the great war (1946) and have largely lived and worked in and near Kempten im Allgäu, Bavaria. I came to professional art late. 1997 the first exhibition of paintings and objects. Numerous exhibitions with paintings and drawings followed. From 2009 on, turning to outdoor / landart projects with art trails and (peace) installations. Start of the project "PORTA ALPINAE Open the door to another world". A wooden gate symbolizes the transition to another world. 30 installations on German, Austrian, Swiss and Italian mountains generate great media interest. Several documentaries in large TV formats and international press reports. Always accompanying the painting, drawings and objects.
