ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I live in central Mexico and made this painting originally as part of a donation to the Audobon society here. Every year they have an art auction to help benefit their organization. COVID arrived and the gala was postponed. In the interim, I decided to donate a different piece, so this is now available! I often combine animals with human biological forms and vice versa. This image ended up being a kind of visual pun. :-) The original painting is watercolor and ink on rice paper. The "wrinkles" visible in the print is actually the texture from the rice paper in the painting. In addition to the original painting, I am offering this piece for open edition prints. All of my work is watercolor and ink on rice paper mounted on cradleboard and ready to hang. There is no glass. The surfaces are fixed with a non-yellowing varnish. The frame work on the edges of all of my paintings are painted in acrylic as a "mock" frame and ready to hang as is, or framed differently as you wish.

I have been making art in one form or another for over 40 years. As a visual artist and also a writer, I love playing with words as well as color and form. Since 2012, I have lived in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico where the surreal atmosphere and sensuous colors have worked their way into my paintings. The last few years have found me making art in different parts of the world, most recently at art residencies in Spain and France.
