About The Artwork

Calling the bride Shofar means “to cut” or “to carve into”. The root Hebrew word for Shofar is SHAFAR which means “to remove the veil of the bride”, “ to shine” or “to beautify”. Thus it literally means “to remove the veil for the beauty to shine”. It portrays the picture of cutting into the darkness and removing the veil of the bride. In Ex 19:19 he called the bride on Mount Sinai to a marriage ceremony with Him. We see with Hebrew marriage ceremonies, the groom calls the bride to come out and meet him in the street for the marriage ceremony. The bride comes out so that the groom can remove her veil and he can look on her beauty. When the last trumpet blows Yeshua will call his bride out to meet Him in the air. 1Co 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at [the sound of] the last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [who believed in Christ] will be raised imperishable, and we will be complete] changed [wondrously transformed]. The Shofar is a weapon of Spiritual Warfare The Word teaches that the voice of the Father is like a shofar. Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit [in special communication with the Holy Spirit and empowered to receive and record the revelation from Jesus Christ] on the Lord's Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like the sound of a trumpet,` Rev 4:1 After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a [war] trumpet speaking with me, said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things." His voice cuts the atmosphere and everything in heaven and earth. It cuts through principalities, power, and all darkness. The Shofar resembles the voice of YHVH and makes the enemy tremble as we call on our Father’s name. The Shofar sound enrages and confuses the enemy. 1Th 4:16 - 17 For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a shout of command, with the voice of the archangel and with the [blast of the] trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain [on the earth] will simultaneously be caught up (raptured) together with them [the resurrected ones] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord! Whenever the sound of the Shofar is heard, you must know that YHVH fights for you. Amo 2:2 "So I will send a fire [of war, conquest, and destruction] upon Moab And it shall devour the strongholds of Kerioth; And Moab shall die amid tumult and uproar, With war cries and shouts of alarm and the sound of the trumpet. Amo 3:6 If a trumpet is blown in a city [warning of danger] will not the people tremble? If a disaster or misfortune occurs in a city has not the LORD caused it? Neh 4:18 – 20 “ Every builder had his sword secured at his side as he built. And the one who sounded the trumpet [to summon the troops] stood at my side. I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "The work is great and extensive, and we are separated on the wall, far from one another. Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, gather to us there. Our God will fight for us." Num 10:9 “When you go to war in your land against the enemy that attacks you, then sound an alarm with the trumpets, so that you may be remembered before the LORD your God, and you shall be saved from your enemies.” It is a prophetic action that declares: “ I am not fighting this battle in my own strength. I surrender to my Father’s authority and strength. He will fight on my behalf and will overcome the enemy.” The 7 feasts of YHVH portrays His salvation plan for mankind. The last 3 feasts have not been fulfilled yet. Feast of Trumpets or Yom Teruah. Teruah means both _ ‘battle cry” and “a shout of joy & worship” Bester, M.G.H, Prof.,(Ph.D.). I was born in 1971, 29 October and grew up in a town called Vanderbijlpark in South Africa. Since I can remember I was holding a pencil, drawing the things around me. I even won my first art prise when I was 6 years old.I am actually the third generation on my mother's side who shows artistic talent. I attended a school for art in Johannesburg and after high School I started a career in the South African Police Force as a Police artist drawing wanted criminals, stolen goods, designing pamphlets, posters ect. This was the environment where I learned most about portrait studies. In 1992 I moved to Cape Town, South Africa. I met a wonderful man, got married and was blessed with two daughters. I am currently painting full time. I only started painting with acrylic late in the 1990's, doing small projects only for family and friends. I soon discovered the magic of painting in oil and never looked back. After a career of 16 years in the South African Police Service, I persued my dream and started painting full time in 2006.I do not paint according to a fixed "style" and concentrate on various commissions including murals, backdrops, portraits and the human figure.I tend to paint relalistic. I am not much into abstract art but can appreciate it. Every time I paint a figure my greatest goal is to paint the body so that the viewer will fall in love will the subject. The challenge is to paint the subject as a living soul, not a dead figure. One must step away and be touched by the emotion she portrais.
